Write a Letter to Tyrannoclaus

Kids' Contest for Children 10 and under
(October – December each year, see below)

Tyrannoclaus is my prehistoric Santa and he loves to receive letters from little dinosaur boys and girls!

Write a letter to Tyrannoclaus, pretending you are a dinosaur (you pick what kind you want to be!), and tell him:

  • How you have been a good dinosaur boy or girl over the last year, and
  • What you hope he will bring you for Christmas, and, if you want to write more,
  • A little bit about your dinosaur family, your prehistoric home, and your dinosaur friends.

Before you begin, ask your parent or guardian for permission to enter the contest and to submit via e-mail. Then, get your prehistoric imagination working!

Be sure to place in subject line “Letter to Tyrannoclaus” and e-mail me at: J.Lawler@snet.net.

You must include the following information, whether you submit by regular or e-mail:

  • Your full name and address
  • Your age
  • A parent or guardian’s full name, e-mail address, and phone number
(The information requested is solely for contacting contestants and will not be shared without permission)

I will select winning letters that are full of imagination, the holiday spirit, and dinosaur fun.

The first names of winners and their letters will be posted on my website. Winners will receive a free autographed copy of my book, Tyrannoclaus.

All contest letter/entries shall be considered my copyrighted property and will not be returned. Letters/entries may be edited for length, spelling, grammar, and comprehension, as appropriate.

Dear Tyrannoclaus,

I live in Connecticut, just in case you get lost.
I have been a good dyno-girl.  I would like a dyno-swim bag and dyno-pajamas with slippers.  I also think that you should get my dyno-friend, Dyno-ERIN, some dyno-books like The Best Dyno Friends.
I think you should get my other dyno-friend, Dyno-Samantha, a dyno-Wii with the
game “Catch the Dynos.” That is all.
Thank you.
Merry Christmas!

From,

Winning Letter to
Tyrannoclaus
Week of 11/28/11

Dear Tyrannoclaus,
Can you believe it is almost Christmas?
I sure can’t! My name Is Kurt the Triceratops.
I live with my family in Missouri.  My
best friends are Kylie the Stegosaurus,
Tyler the Brachiosaurus, and Josh the Utahraptor. We love to play dinoball at recess!
I have been a good dinosaur boy over
the last year. I worked hard in school and stuck
to my diet of herbs and leaves. It sometimes is
tempting to eat other yummy things! I hope you
bring me a new, bigger, and better dinoball. Mine broke! Also, I hope to get some
new dinolegos and dinobooks.

Roaringly yours,
Kurt the
Triceratops
