![]() A Mama Bug's Love
A mother's love for her child is the subject of my first book, IF KISSES WERE COLORS. One day, I started thinking about how “other” mothers might show their love. I wondered what I would do if I were a mother bug – and that's how A Mama Bug's Love began. I think insects and bugs are very interesting and I treat them with respect and care. So it was easy for me to think about mama bugs showing love to their babies. Of course, this book is mostly “silly fun” since bugs most likely don't do all the things I've imagined. But just maybe … Tiny termites hear mom say, “Remember, if you're good, I'll take you to a lumber yard to chew on cherry wood.” Rick Peterson's delightful illustrations help bring my words to life. Children will love the pop-ups that appear throughout this novelty book. Published by Little Simon, December, 2006
